Hello! Welcome to the wonderful world of Waywicks! This site is here to serve as a resource for the species information. Waywicks are an open, regulated species happily owned by Alexander Holmberg, or Tropicanis on FurAffinity.
Everyone has experienced the frustrating situation where you could have sworn you left those keys on the table, or you know you put that remote back on the mantel, yet you find yourself searching everywhere for it. The Waywick species came from a whim to personify situations such as those.
Manifesting as a deer-like being, waywicks are mischievous spirits that generally enjoy causing trouble for the people that dwell near their place of residence, to varying degrees.

MASK DECOR:
-
As a general rule, waywicks are not to have decorations on their mask. Decorations are used solely to discern "authority figures" (admins of the species) and are relative to socio-political beliefs and practices in waywick society. ​

Decorations are viewed as anything that is attached to the mask, such as flowers, feathers, berries, pebbles, twigs, leaves, etc. ​Markings, etchings and extra horns are allowed

LIMBS:

Due to the nature of their energy, waywicks cannot have extra limbs, tails, or have wings of any kind.​

Wing-like markings are acceptable!​

Genetalia is non-existent in waywicks.

Extra eyes/ears/mouths are allowed, but uncommon
-
Two horns are required to be on top of the head (like where a deer's antlers would be). They can have any number of horns anywhere on their body as long as they have a minimum of 2 on their head.

Waywick eyes do not have irises. This means that their eyes are always a single, solid color and have either a white, black or no pupil.

HYBRIDS:

Because they are unable to reproduce, waywicks cannot be combined with other species. ​

ENERGY:

A waywick's so​urce energy is always visible in their eyes and their tails. Eyes and tail fluff must match, and must be a single color.

The exceptions include 'sparkles' in the source energy, and eyes with pupils​

Waywicks have very specific anatomy and certain traits are required or not allowed to be included in order for a waywick to fall under that classification.
